This was a large Pomelo that I picked up recently. I was sure that I had eaten them as a kid, but I couldn’t remember what they tasted like. In my mind I thought that they must have been similar to a grapefruit in taste and texture. In reality the Pomelo was like a very large, mild, slightly floral grapefruit without the mess of excessive juice, which made it convenient to peel and eat. I had expected the pith/peel to be thick as well, but it wasn’t. The membrane did need to be peeled before eating, though. It would have been too bitter and fibrous otherwise.

Yes, this thing was interesting to eat. Not wonderful, not offensive. Kind of like Generic Citrus Fruit Lite (TM).
“Generic Citrus Fruit Lite (TM)”…so true!
Individually wrapped citrus is amazing to me! But then again down here in the south we’re pretty spoiled about our citrus. You buy it by the sack load then it just ends up going bad in the fruit bowl.
