I was really ill during the week I had off following Christmas with a mysterious throat infection that also affected my sinuses. So, I never felt like I ever had a break following the crazy work schedule leading up to the holidays.
My doctor couldn't see anything in my throat to indicate that I had Strep again. But, I had other signs that confirmed I was suffering from a bacterial infection. Instead of the more common ten-day course of antibiotics I was prescribed a "Z Pack," or a five-day course of Azithromycin antibiotics. It took me five days to deal with the side affects while I was on them. And, then another ten days after that to finally feel normal and healthy again.
